PDF on the Fly Changes
This page documents changes that have been made to the PDF-PL library to fix problems found by its users. Other information on changes to the library will also appear here as and when they occur.
Date | Problem | Module(s) affected | Fix |
---|---|---|---|
1999 | PDFs created on Windows systems resulted in Acrobat needing to rebuild damaged file. | File.pm | Output was being generated in ASCII/text mode thus converting newlines to carriage return/linefeed pairs and invalidating the file's cross-reference table. Binary mode was set for the output file. |
29th March 2000 | PDF-PL hanging with Perl on Windows NT systems. | File.pm | The system date command was being used to generate the PDF file ID, which required user input on Windows NT. This was changed to use the Perl localtime function. |
